Medical Intervention Programme (MIP) at Bulunku Community, Gusau, Zamfara State, Nigeria

The Anchors for Public Health & Nutrition Initiative (APHNI) successfully conducted a one-day medical outreach on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at Bulunku Community, Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
The outreach was aimed at improving access to quality healthcare, promoting health education, and offering free medical consultations and drug distribution to community members.
The program commenced at 9:00 a.m. with an opening prayer led by the Village Head (Hakimi), who warmly welcomed the APHNI team and appreciated the organization’s continuous effort toward promoting community health and wellbeing.
The outreach recorded a total of 247 beneficiaries, comprising 71 males and 176 females.

Common medical conditions seen and treated included:
• Malaria and febrile illnesses
• Hypertension and other heart-related conditions
• Diabetes mellitus
• Dental and oral health issues
• Gastrointestinal disorders
• Musculoskeletal pain and minor infections

All 247 beneficiaries were given appropriate medical consultations, counselling, and free medications according to their diagnoses.
The program achieved its objectives of delivering free medical services, promoting health awareness, and strengthening community engagement.
